Solar Camping Lights
When camping you want to make sure that you are using something that will provide you with the proper resources to allow you to have fun while keeping you safe. Many people are trading in their propane lanterns for something that is much safer – solar camping lights.
Propane lanterns are useful – but they can be dangerous when not used properly. The fuel that they burn off might be difficult for some people to handle and if it is ever knocked over it can create a fire. In the woods that is something you never want to happen because of how difficult they are to put out.
Some people will even use these solar lights over flashlights. They do not have to worry about the batteries that they use as often or have to keep spare ones in their backpacks at all times. The one problem you might have when using them is that during the day there will not be enough sunlight to fully power it.
In most cases these solar camping lights come in the form of lanterns. This is because it makes them much larger then the flash light and therefore easier to power up when you need it. These are great to use when you are walking outside, having dinner at the picnic table, in a boat, and in your RV.
It is designed with a three way switch that will allow you to control the one or two LED lights inside. The solar panel is built into it and it also uses a rechargeable battery. Most designs will allow you to use the standard AA batteries. Make sure you have a couple in your emergency kit in case something happens to them.
One of these will cost you anywhere between $20 to $100. This will depend on what brand you purchase, how strong you wish the LED light to be, and how much solar power it requires in order to function.
